Antarctica Day - 01.12.23
On Friday, the school commemorated Antarctica Day.
This celebrates the date in 1959 when 12 nations signed a treaty to make Antarctica a peaceful place of natural beauty. With the climate change issue very prevalent now, Mr Lea shared a video of a scientist who witnessed how the ice is melting and the sea levels are rising. As a whole school we discussed the impact on our planet if this continues to happen. The children all created flags to represent Antarctica- there was a great deal of thought put into these!
