The pupils from Sycamore and Rowan class spent the day as an authentic Victorian child. They attended school lessons and participated in a range of subjects. They were able to experience what it would have been and felt like for a Victorian child that attended school. The children were able to write using slate, recited songs and carried out some shared reading. The children were then allowed to play with some authentic Victorian toys before having their lunch. After lunch, the boys and girls were separated with the girls participating in needlework and the boys were drawing items from the mystery cupboard. It was a thoroughly enjoyable day and gave the children a real insight into life as a Victorian child.
