Pine class are class of the week in this weeks Diss Express

Last Friday Mendham Primary School held its annual sports day at Mendham and Withersdale village hall. During the morning the children took part in a variety of athletic events prior to parents arrival after lunch. All the children gave it their best and took park in egg and spoon, sack, relay, obstacle as well as sprint races. Parents also raced at the end, cheered on by their children, thank you to all for taking part and making it a special day. Congratulations to Waveney house who won overall, followed by Orwell, Deben and Dove. Year 6 ran stalls afterwards and we had amazing support from FOMSA - Friends of Mendham School Association 2024 with refreshments throughout the day.

This year Juniper have had a visit from a real Roman Centurian, learnt all about habitats at Thetford forest and had a fantastic residential trip - What a lot of fun!

This year's KS 2 performance 'Panto Pandemonium' was a roaring success this week. Staff and children pulled out all the stops to bring panto land to Mendham. As a group of children travelled through different scenes collecting elements from each panto to restore the magic in panto land, there was singing and dancing, booing and hissing. The audience played their part well and joined in too. Congratulations to everyone involved for a spectacular summer show.

Sycamore's year 6 pupils participated in Crucial Crew in Stowmarket this week. They learnt all about ways to stay safe including keeping safe online and basic CPR. The children listened and asked lots of purposeful questions. Well done.

Serena Grace Athlete attended school on Friday morning to complete some fun fitness activities with the children. unfortunately Seedlings went off on a visit to the Camel Centre, but Serena popped in to say hello before they left. All other classes took part in fitness circuits, an assembly about perseverance and determination and some got their phots taken with Serena Grace and her medals.

Father's day football: We were pleased to welcome everyone to our father's day Football event, where, in the scorching temperatures, children and adults joined together to play football, before disappearing for an ice lolly from FoMSA.
