A huge thank you to PC Hassler from Suffolk Constabulary, who came to visit Seedlings and speak all about the role of a police officer. PC Hassler took the time to answer the many questions from our youngest children. The children enjoyed trying out the uniform and sitting in the police car.
Last week we supported Comic Relief's 40th birthday with an afternoon of fundraising fun.
Children and staff came to school dressed in red and 80's outfit. Everyone looked amazing!
We celebrated World Book Day with a variety of book related activities. Children were able to choose their World Book Day book and a selection of other books to take home for their own reading enjoyment.
Key Stage 2 pupils had the opportunity to learn more about the Solar System this week. A gentleman from Norwich astronomical society came and delivered a talk all about the Solar System and Space! The children asked some fabulous questions and discussed the theories of black holes and nebula formations, as well as learning about the planets and moons in our Solar System!
Pupils in Sycamore class have been extremely busy during the past 2 weeks. They participated in Enterprise, working collaboratively and creatively in groups to produce quality craft items that were sold at their Enterprise sale. The pupils learnt about budgeting money for materials, profit and loss, designing and creating and evaluating their products.
Sycamore class have been participating in the Road to RIAT (Royal International Air Tattoo) challenge today. They have spent time designing 3 prototype rockets, thinking carefully about how the size and shapes of the fuselage, nose cones and fins will affect the flight. They have looked at the forces of thrust and drag acting on the rockets.
Well done Waveny Partnership schools.
Throughout this half term, during our after school Science club, children have been participating and engaging in a range of investigations. They have been learning how to construct 'fair tests' and investigate the questions they have created. So far, the children have investigated, 'Does the size of a balloon affect the distance it travels?' 'Does the size of a bottle affect the height a paper mouse can go?' and 'Does the size of an elastic band affect the distance a sweet can travel?'.
