Sycamore Road to RIAT (04.12.24)
Sycamore class have been participating in the Road to RIAT (Royal International Air Tattoo) challenge today. They have spent time designing 3 prototype rockets, thinking carefully about how the size and shapes of the fuselage, nose cones and fins will affect the flight. They have looked at the forces of thrust and drag acting on the rockets.
The class then tested their rockets, measuring the distance and time taken for each, working out averages and the speed the rockets travelled at! This afternoon, they have focused on creating sustainable aircrafts for the future!
