  • Outdoor Learning at Mendham

Forest Friends (Key stage 2) have begun their outdoor learning adventure.

After a snowy session last week to a rather wet one this week the children have shown great resilience.

We are looking at campfire safety, the science around how a fire burns (fire triangle), the types of structures that can be laid, and hopefully have a successful fire.

This afternoon the children split into small groups and participated in forming a structure from information we had looked at. The children decided they wanted to try a teepee or log cabin.

The children constructed some excellent structures, teepee being the most popular.
