Beech and Juniper joined together to become immersed in Roman life for a day. They had the opportunity to act as archaeologists looking at different Roman artifacts, using the knowledge they have gained from their History lessons, to work out what the objects may have been used for and what type of person may have owned them. We had the opportunity to dress up as Roman Legionnaires, test out lots of activities that Roman soldiers would have had to keep them busy at camp. The children were able to try food that Roman soldiers may have eaten, some enjoyed the food, but others were not too keen! Finally, we went outside to become Roman soldiers, taking part in marching, fighting formations and ending with a battle. #school #learning #education #romanempire #romanlifestyle #romanlife #educational

In Seedlings the children have been learning about the uses of technology. This week, we explored how to create a drawing on the interactive whiteboard. The children understood how to change colours and the thickness of the lines.

The first pupil parliament of the year saw our Head Pupils and Eco-Warriors joining children from around the trust to discuss bio-diversity and sustainability. Through the day they focused on how we can improve bio-diversity in our school grounds through simple but effective measures as well as thinking about some larger scale projects. The children from Mendham and St Edmunds will continue the discussion together moving forward and support each other to develop projects at both sites.

Our Junior Road Safety officers presented their power point to the school in today's assembly. The children talked about the importance of being safe on the roads, the green cross code, importance of wearing bright clothes to be seen and also presented certificates to those who entered their recent competition. Well done Isla and Danniel

On Monday Pine Class joined Oak for a day of animal themed learning. We had a visit from Wild Encounters and learnt about a wide range of carnivores, herbivores and omnivores by meeting some fascinating animals. Then we used our scientific skills to work out which animal did which poo! Thinking about the size, shape and what was in the poo to guess the animal. #wildlife #wildanimals #WildEncounters #animals #school #schoollife #learning #education
